--- Comment #25 from László Németh <[email protected]> --- (In reply to László Németh from comment #21) > – To show the hidden abbreviated headings referred in the header using > style-ref, enable Tools→Options→LibreOffice Writer→Formatting Aids→Hidden > characters; The solution works not only with the Styles (loext::style-ref) fields, but using the ODF-compliant Insert→Field→More Fields→Document→Heading: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/swriter/guide/header_with_chapter.html?DbPAR=WRITER#bm_id3155919 using Chapter (or using style-ref,) enable Tools→Options→LibreOffice Writer→Formatting Aids→Hidden characters The attached test document uses the Document→Heading fields, not Styles fields. (Note: loext:style-ref is a relatively new, not standardized interoperability feature, developed by Skyler Grey (Collabora). It is a ~generalization of the Document→Heading fields. Using that is not back-compatible with OpenOffice.org or with the older LibreOffice versions, but it allows more freedom, for example, it can refer the last heading on the page, not only the first one.
