            Bug ID: 170837
Summary: There are many Markdown implementation, what is the
                    one of LibreOffice
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Markdown is not a very strict syntax, so it can be implemented in various ways.
For example, the website LinuxFR.org has its own Markdown that is specific on
several points. I wrote an article about LibreOffice 26.2, with LibreOffice,
obviously and testing it. And I wrote the results of my tests in the article.

I was asked what specific Markdown LibreOffice supports in the comments, and
someone said that LibreOffice should support all "flavours" of Markdown (!?)
someone answered that LibreOffice should better tell what Markdown it supports
(CommonMark? https://spec.commonmark.org/0.31.2/#why-is-a-spec-needed-).

The article, in French, in case you would want to read the comments about that:
https://linuxfr.org/news/libreoffice-26-2-markdown-accessibilite-et-plein-d-autres-nouveautes-et-ameliorations

I think the question is a good question that may need an answer somewhere.

Beside of that, it works. And I am happy with it.

(I don't know if it is the right place for this kind of question, I hope it is)

Actual Results:
Good work on Markdown, but not always perfect due to the various
implementations.

Expected Results:
Perfect work?

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
As I said in the description, maybe LibreOffice should tell what kind Markdown
it supports (or not).
