            Bug ID: 170853
Summary: Please split LO's elephant memory
                    ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcu
                    into smaller chunks
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Currently ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcu can grow quite
large.

It contains configuration stuff (which administrators might want to keep the
same across their company) and it also keeps very ephemeral stuff like the
files last worked upon.

Things like keyboard shortcuts are also stored in this file.

I propose to split this file at least into parts by topics. This might be
organized by the GUI navigation which make them.

Once this is done, users might keep backup copies of those split parts and
easily reset LO Writer to its installation state. After this has been done,
they might re-activate whole sets of setting they had backed up before.

Is there a documentation about what is in this file, about the tags used in it
and which function in the user interface supplies input to them?
