Bug ID: 170878
Summary: Enhancement request: Allow configurable stroke
thickness for overline/bar in LibreOffice Math.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.5.8.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Formula Editor
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Currently, the overline (overline{} or bar{}) command produces a fixed thin
stroke. In printed documents (especially exams or educational materials), the
line can become barely visible.
A formatting option to control stroke thickness (similar to font weight
control) would improve readability and printing quality.
Actual Results:
The overline{} and bar{} commands in LibreOffice Math produce a thin fixed
stroke. The thickness cannot be adjusted by the user. When printed, the line
may appear too faint.
Expected Results:
Users should be able to configure the stroke thickness of the overline for
better readability in printed documents.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
This issue is particularly noticeable in printed educational materials, such as
mathematics or logic exams, where negation bars must be clearly visible.
In some printers, the thin overline becomes barely distinguishable.
Allowing stroke thickness adjustment would improve accessibility and printing
reliability.
