Using the full screen mode is not convenient at all. I'm saying this after
several years. I've used it time to time, but never got friends with it...
Full screen mode is very "rigid" in Writer.
You are deprived of every tool. Which is not good.
Plus you have that one button toolbar which is not even necessary, cause
getting out of full screen mode is universally done by ESC :)
Yes, since lots of applications offer full screen mode, the culture exists, and
we have very concrete expectations.
Basically: toolbars should disappear, but reappear when hovered over.

The toolbar (in use) should appear when hovering over the top zone.
The menubar? No. We don't want the entire space to rearrange.

Sidebar: likewise.
Hover over it, and it should appear.
Like with: CTRL+f5 or selecting it from the View menu.

The Search bar?
Well it should always be as decent as to disappear after use :)
Unless we stick it in place.

Statusbar: it is a good idea to keep it...
a small surface with lots of info! It is in harmony with Full Screen mode.
It can be semi-transparent, though.
THE idea / expectation is very simple.
Tools should withdraw and stay out of sight, politely.
The rude "transformer toy" kind of manner of going into Full Screen mode is
simply outdated. Writer is a beautiful tool, this handicap shouldn't exist.
PS:
I have seen a microsoft-like editor (forgot the name) with a very
"sophisticated" disappearing and self-rearranging toolbar.... So horrible!
It is definitely NOT the way to go :)
Things should be kept simple.
In full screen mode the only thing that happens should be that things go out of
sight :) And when hovering over them, reappear.
I would call that simple :)
