            Bug ID: 171168
Summary: Make active cell editing paste action paste as plain
                    text
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

As discussed in forum post here:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/paste-behaviour-changed/132783/6

Pasting into a cell behaves in two methods.
#1. Single-click select the cell & paste: it pastes with formatting.
#2. Double-click on the cell & paste: it previously pasted as plain text, but
now brings in some formatting (see
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157363).

To get plain text pasted in it is necessary to either select the cell & then
use the formula bar at the top or right-click & Paste Special > Unformatted
Text, or use a keyboard shortcut.

I understand that 157363 fixed the bug of #2 paste method not bringing in some
RTF so that it now does, but could a setting option be made available to make
paste method #2 paste plain text again please - or make this the default #2
paste behaviour? I find this to be a more useful secondary paste behaviour. The
new paste #2 behaviour is very close to that of method #1 - from my perspective
it pastes some but not all of the formatting, which isn't as useful. The new
'#2 paste method might be useful for pasting URL's but I would take this to be
a less frequent task than pasting in e.g. order numbers from web pages.

I often copy order numbers from my browser & paste them into a cell & I prefer
for these to paste in as plain text. The new method breaks this workflow/makes
it less quick to paste as plain text. Note: Excel behaves as per the old #2
paste method & how LibreOffice worked in v7.4.7.2 (and probably previous
versions to my knowledge, but I haven't tested that).
