            Bug ID: 171477
Summary: Redundant space in LibreOffice Writer
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.1.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When I select one or more words in a LibreOffice Writer text and then press
"Delete," the text is removed, but two adjacent spaces remain (I have to
manually delete one). When I use MS Word at work and do the same thing, the
software ensures that only one space remains in place of the deleted words.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I select one or more words in the LibreOffice Writer text.
2.I press Delete.
3.The selected text is removed, but two adjacent spaces remain.

Actual Results:
Two adjacent spaces remain, and I have to manually delete one of them.

Expected Results:
Recognize that if two spaces remain after deleting one or more words, one
should be removed.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I'm reporting this now, but the problem has always been there. Given the level
of quality LibreOffice has now reached, it's annoying to have to manually
intervene for something that keeps happening in a predictable situation.
