          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 67507
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: UI: Display jumps horizontally under particular
                    conditions
          Severity: trivial
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux (All)
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
         Component: Writer
           Product: LibreOffice

Steps:

(1) Execute LibreOffice with a command like

        soffice --norestore --writer

Program displays Writer document window "Untitled 1". Heareafter,
    I call this "window 1".

(2) In window 1, execute menu options View > Zoom > Zoom. Program
displays dialog "Zoom & View Layout".

(3) In that dialog, click radio button "Variable", set the imput field
to 100, and click <OK>. Focus return to window 1.

(4) In window 1, execute menu options Window > "New Window". Program
    displays document window "Untitled 1 : 2", which I call "window 2"
    for short.

(5) With the mouse, drag a side of each of window 1 and window 2 until
the gray background is visible beside the white "paper" area, if
    necessary.

(6) Return focus to window 1. Observe that the cursor is at the left
    margin.

(7) In window 1, type "a".

Expected : The "a" appears immediately at the left margin, and the
cursor is immediately right of the "a".

Actual : Quite quickly (in less than a second)
                 - the image of the "paper" jumps right about 3 cm
                 - the image jumps back to where it was
                 - the "a" appears at the left margin, and
                 - the cursor is about 3 cm from the left margin.

This happens with master commit 1cf0999, pulled 2013-07-28 around
02:05 UTC, configured with

with the xfce desktop.

I also see this bug with version 'oldest' from the 40 bibisect
repository (that is LibreOffice version 3.5.0 commit d6cde02); it is
at least prebibisect and may not be a regression.

I am setting priority lowest because the behaviour is only a brief
visual distraction.

Terry.
