Bug #: 44245
Summary: Autoscroll unexpected behavior
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.5.0 Beta2
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
There does not appear to be a way to disable autoscroll. When dragging an item
into a spreadsheet or text Table (or other document I am sure) the frame
scrolls in an attempt to match the mouse motion- and very frequently
overcompensates.
Calc is used as an example because there is a kluge to obtain the desired
behavior. Again, why 'Freeze Window' does not actually freeze the columns
selected, is beyond me. But if you freeze the columns then by the time you
have dragged an item into them the frame has shifted to the right (after all,
the mouse points just off the column boundary) and you have to bring the mouse
over to the left and compensate for the overcompensation.
If you have selected columns to be the frozen window are , and then place a
file-manager window overlapping the right-most cells of the frozen area, you
actually have a frozen set of cells which will not move in response to the
presence of a mouseOver.
This is today's kluge but in my mind the desired behavior if an area of the
window is 'Frozen' is to make it immutable unless a scrolling action is
selected with focus - it should not put you on the Gladiators' Tilt Table just
to enter your data item.
