--- Comment #2 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1) > Why would you need another toggle? Well, we already have the toggle, except that it's only in the Format > Paragraph... and named PS editing dialogs, only, rather than also being available separately. > there is nothing wrong with Automatic There's actually a lot: * Anything which performs actions automatically is inherently somewhat surprising and potentially confusing/offputting. This is (partly) why our AutoFormat and AutoCorrect are filled with toggles up to the wazoo. * Automatic direction setting can get it wrong - the heuristic is very simplistic and goes by the first character. * If you've set the direction manually already, before, you may want to avoid it getting messed up for a little while while you're doing something you feel is sensitive. > Second, the dialog offers all options > and you can force any (overwriting the Automatic detection). Yes, the dialog offers this toggle. But it should also be possible to have that as a command. I didn't say it should be on the formatting toolbar by default or anything, but it should exist. I would probably add this button to my toolbar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
