There is an issue when using visible in-line editing when Autocorrect changes
striaght quotes to curly quotes.
When typing in new text, straight quotes and apostrophes get turned into curly
quotes and apostrophes, and appear bold. See attached image for example.
In that example, if I was to then highlight the entire line and select "Reject
All" the text would disappear, but the quote marks would remain.
I tried this in Safe Mode and the problem persisted.
Another example: Let’s say I have this line:
This is a test.
Then, while editing, I decide to add something that includes quotes (with
inline changes visible)
I said, “This is a test.”
Then I decide to select all of that and reject the change to make it the way it
was. It will come out
“This is a test”
With the quotes treated as if they were in the original line.
However if I go to Autocorrect Options, and turn the checkmarks off for Replace
Single Quotes and Double Quotes (leaving only straight quotes), then the above
scenario does not happen.
Additional information: In my initial example (see image), if I were to
highlight the whole line and then change it to italics… the whole first Testing
becomes bold as well, and behaves like the quote marks if I press “Reject
Change” remaining instead of being removed.
In other tests, where I have an in-line change that includes quotes or
apostrophes or periods and I italicze it, it will only bold the previous
letter… but if I keep italicizing and un-italicizing it, it continues affecting
an additional letter with each step until it reaches the beginning…
