Bug ID: 172020
Summary: FILEOPEN Long file names cause lock error
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
If filename is so long that when chromium downloaded it, filename was
truncated, libreoffice can't open file normally:
Steps to reproduce:
0) Version: Version: 26.2.3.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 70e089b17412e4cb7773e41413306b17a2328c34
CPU threads: 24; OS: Linux 7.0; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Flatpak
Calc: threaded
(running on btrfs)
1) Create a normal "empty.odt" file, quite writer
2) Rename file to
AABBAABCDEFGHIZZFFAAWWWWQQEERRAAABBABBCCDDAAFFAAGGGHHAABBCCAACCDDEEFFGGGHHAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHAABBCCDDAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJIIHHGGFFEEDDCCBBAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKLLMMNNOOPPQQAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHAABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKLLMMNNOOPPQQRRSSTTUUVVWWXXYYZZAABBCCDDEE.odt
(250 symbols)
3) Open file again in libreoffice. It'll complain
"The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to
missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free
disk space."
If file is renamed back, it works fine.
Looks like it's because adding`.~lock.#` makes filename too long to work.
