            Bug ID: 172078
Summary: "search key not found" message -- a possible
                    improvement
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.0 alpha0+ master
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

hi,

I think this message can be annoying, as there is that "i" letter, in a circle
at the beginning of it.

Anything like that, a text elevated to the level of graphics is bad when the
human wants to recognize text...

Practically, the blue (any color) background is good enough.
Writer users are not dumb monkeys who even need a "bing" sound :)

That blue would be perfect as is.

However, for some visual emphasis, I would suggest using "<<",
after the message...

Like:
search string not found <<

or | search string not found. <<

or <--

the point is: an arrow pointing backwards...
so that the human eye could find the text ("search string not found")
going from left (the search field) to the right...
without interrupted by a graphical object...

This can be easily tested...
20 people would be suffice :)

My opinion:

with color background and that "i in a circle" graphic, it is like a logo...
a static image... not a dynamic message. I mean, to a human eye and brain.
