            Bug ID: 172209
Summary: UI rendering fails to display intermediate font
weights (Thin, Light, Extralight) - defaulting them to
                    Regular during editing
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.7.3 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
the user interface fails to correctly render intermediate font weights during
live editing.

When using a font family with multiple weights, variations like Thin,
Extralight, and Light are all rendered identically to the Regular/Normal weight
on the screen. The UI only displays a visible difference when a drastic change
is applied, such as switching to Bold or Black.

The correct, subtle differences between Thin, Light, and Regular are properly
applied and visible once the document is exported to PDF or printed. However,
the lack of accurate real-time rendering during editing makes precise
typographical work impossible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Writer (or any other suite app).

2. Install and select a font family that includes multiple weights (e.g.,
Inter, Roboto, or Montserrat with Thin, Light, extraLight, Regular, Semibold,
Bold options).

3. Type a few lines of text and apply a different font weight to each line.

4. Observe the rendering on the screen during editing.

5. Export the document to PDF and open it in a PDF viewer.

Actual Results:
On the editing screen, all lines look virtually identical or fail to show the
subtle differences between weights (e.g., Light looks the same as Regular).

Also, very thin fonts tend to have flaws that should not be there.

Expected Results:
The editing interface should accurately render the specific font weight chosen
by the user in real-time, matching the final exported/printed output.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No
