            Bug ID: 172215
Summary: Synonyms mix up (hope vs hop)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

English is not my natural language, so before actually correcting the following
items in LO, please double-check the information I am posting here, both the
definition of the following terms and the correction to suggested Synonyms in
LO Writer.

There seems to be some kind of mix-up regarding the following terms in LO
Writer. As far as I understand:

_ hoped, hoping: (to hope) wish / want / desire / expect that something will
happen / will realize / will come true.

_ hopped, hopping: (to hop) jump, skip, omit.

In Writer, when writing "hopped" or "hopping" (with two letters "p"), there are
no suggested Synonyms. When writing "hoped" or "hoping" (with one letter "p"),
several suggested Synonyms seem to correspond to the other terms, those with
two letters "p", from the verb "to hop".

There might be some other suggested Synonyms listed for those same terms (with
one letter "p") that do not seem really related, or at least I do not know
their relation to the verb "to hope" for them to be listed as suggested
Synonyms.

I am not being more specific, because I'd rather leave the details to someone
that is more proficient in English than I am. Again, please double-check that
my claim is actually correct before modifying the suggested Synonyms.

BTW, I am not sure which Component should I use to report this issue, or
whether this should be reported elsewhere.
