Regarding the question: why would the user explicitly select several tables beforehand: As an example: calc document with hundreds of worksheets and one sheet that controls all other; occasionally you print random number of sheets (by selecting multiple sheets); user does not see all selected pages in a tab region and goes to change "setting" in a master worksheet trough a validity cell without deselecting multiple sheets; changing content of a cell in active sheet changes content of same cell in all selected sheets....that's obvious, funny I failed to see that..
