            Bug ID: 172260
           Summary: merging cells resets formatting
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.2.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
In Calc, merging cells resets the formatting of the 'older' cell.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new calc file
2. Write anything in any cell (eg H6)
3. Format as Bold and increase font size (eg to 22pt)

Now you have your nice formatted text. But you want ot merge the cell with the
previous one (G6, which is empty and untouched)

So you select G6 and H6, and press "Merge Cells" button

Actual Results:
Your text reverts to the default format. So you are forced to format the text
two times.

Expected Results:
Your text keeps the format, but now occupies the merged cells.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Interestingly, this only happens when you want to merge with a cell that is
located BEFORE the current cell. For example, to the left, or on the row above.
Merging with a posterior cell (i.e., to the right or the row below) works as
expected.
