Bug ID: 172266
Summary: Outline of writer forms fields missing with dark mode
when printing / pdf export
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I have a writer document that has form fields in it. With dark mode enabled, if
I go to Print Preview, it shows the outline of the form boxes in the preview
mode, but if I go to Print, in the preview there the form box outlines are
missing. The same is true if the document is actually printed (no box
outlines), as well as "export directly as PDF" - no form outline boxes are
present.
If I switch to light-mode theme, the form box outlines work as expected, aka
they appear in print preview, but also actually print / are present in pdf
exports.
This has been a long-standing bug with forms and dark mode for a long time now.
It gets tiring to have to switch my OS theme to edit these documents and have
them print / export to PDF correctly
Steps to Reproduce:
1. make a document with some text form fields - set the boxes to show an
outline
2. open document with writer in dark mode theme
3. look at print preview (form box outlines visible), vs the preview in the
"print" dialog / actually print the document / export the document as PDF -
form box outlines are missing.
4. switch OS to light theme
5. Re-open document in writer, preview in the Print dialog shows the form box
outlines, and actually printing or exporting to PDF produces the box outlines
correctly
Actual Results:
Form box outlines missing when in dark mode when printing / pdf export
Expected Results:
Form box outlines present in printing / pdf export regardless of light / dark
theme of display
Reproducible: Always
