--- Comment #15 from [email protected] --- Hello to all the developers, Here are the tests I carried out in detail to help you clarify the issue: _ I installed the latest stable version available (26.2.3.2) in case it would fix the issues I reported here -> no significant difference. _ To remove any lingering doubt, I then performed a reset in accordance with the method officially recommended by the development team (Safe Mode, etc.) - > no noticeable difference. _ I specify that I only use one extension: Grammalecte (Grammalecte-fr-v2.3.0.oxt) <- https://grammalecte.net/ _ I approximately timed the delay of a corrective insertion (content corruption by the import into LibreOffice Writer: missing arrows, but not all of them) in my working document, page 330, and after more than 40 minutes of waiting, I ended up losing patience and lacking concentration to note the exact end of this endless delay! _ To compare, I performed an equivalent operation with the first diagram found at the very beginning of my working document (page 1) -> surprise! a few seconds of delay "only" (sic!) I would like to point out that other tests have shown the random appearance of unnecessary spacing borders in all directions around the vector graphics of my imported files. I couldn’t identify an obvious cause, since this can happen with files of different size and complexity, not directly related to this bug. It should be added that I have been using vector graphics files in SVG format created with the software VUE (Visual Understanding Environment) v3.3.0 for many years with LibreOffice Writer, and that it is only in recent years that I have encountered these difficulties. First of all, there was the addition of unnecessary spaces around the rectangle that constitutes the coherent boundaries of the generated graphics. Then, I noticed with some delay the alteration of the imported images (missing arrows), and finally lately, the unbearable import delay that is at the origin of this bug report. And finally, importing bitmap graphics files in JPEG format triggers the same delay issue! Assumptions: I had done some research on the Internet when I first encountered this bug, and a Reddit page that I couldn’t find already talked about the difficulties encountered with importing vector graphics files in SVG format into large documents with LibreOffice. It seems to me that here is indeed the case! Moreover, since importing an SVG into LibreOffice Draw does not alter the original content, while LibreOffice Writer is not as respectful, it seems logical to think at my level of simple user that the graphic import module is not identical between these two software programs. Naively, I had assumed that the office software suite LibreOffice had from its origin adopted a modular logic for this type of import. Obviously, I was wrong on this point. It is all the more surprising that the logic of source code maintenance, as well as its redundant reuse, is at the heart of an optimization issue, it seems to me. Since my tests show a link between the position of the imported graphic and the file size, it seems that this is a serious lead that should be taken into consideration. I hope this helps you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
