Bug ID: 172291
Summary: UI Scale in LibreOffice broken if launched on
dual-monitor setup with different scaling factors
under Tuxedo OS/KDE Plasma 6/Wayland
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
This issue affects the system installed version in Tuxedo OS, which I believe
is directly mirrored from the Ubuntu or Debian apt repositories (but I am
unsure). The Flatpak version is unaffected, and I will continue to use this
going forward.
I consider this a very serious bug, as it is immediately visible the first time
you open a fresh install of LibreOffice with my setup, which gives a very bad
first impression of broken software.
I am running a dual-monitor setup under Tuxedo OS (freshly installed via their
WebFAI installation method), KDE6, a built-in laptop screen (2880x1800, 175%
scaling) and an external (primary) screen (2560x1440, 100% scaling). If I open
any LibreOffice application while it is different, the UI scale on my primary
screen seems to adopt the 175% of the built-in, non-primary screen, and I
cannot view the full contents of the dialog boxes. The scaling appears correct
when moved to the built-in screen. However, if I have previously attempted to
open a dropdown menu on the primary screen, it will be widely misplaced the
first time I attempt to open a menu on the secondary screen. This rectifies
itself after that first attempt.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use dual-monitor system under KDE Plasma 6 / Wayland
2. Set scaling to 175% on non-primary screen. Set scaling to 100% on primary
screen.
3. Install LibreOffice from apt repository (Tuxedo OS, presumably mirrored
Ubuntu or Debian repos)
3. Open any LibreOffice application on primary screen.
4. Open a dialog box, e.g. Tools > Options.
Actual Results:
>From step 3: UI incorrectly scaled. Icons too large.
>From step 4: UI incorrectly scaled. Contents not visible.
Expected Results:
>From step 3: UI correctly sized according to the UI scaling factor set in
Display settings in KDE Plasma 6.
>From step 4: Same as above. All content should be visible.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
