FWIW, this nitpicking of what exactly is fully pasted (i.e. including
formatting) and what is excluded from the clipboard when either of the copy or
paste actions involve the formula bar input window might have negative
consequences.

For example, in some older versions of Calc, some html features where not
considered when pasting (on the formula bar input window) selected text from a
web page. Some newer Calc version implemented support for that html formatting
on the formula bar input window. Some users were not expecting that, and
claimed that the formula bar input window should not include any formatting in
those cases. Back then, the reply / response was that the formula bar input
window does indeed support other formatting when pasting, and now it also
supports html formatting.

I am not sure whether the patches introduced in order to solve this specific
tdf 167545 are some kind of "exception" to the way text or strings with some
formatting are pasted. I am just expressing a potential concern, that we might
be starting some endless nitpicking, according to different (almost random)
use-cases.

Since I am not a developer, this concern might be unwarranted / undeserved.
