            Bug ID: 172372
Summary: Elegant recovery from overselection in table columns
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.6.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

If you select some text inside a table column, and the mouse pointer goes to
the border with another column (by mistake), the entire contents of BOTH
columns get selected. This happens to me all the time. And that is probably
working as intended.

However if you bring the mouse pointer selection back inside the first column,
the ENTIRE contents of that first column is selected, and there is no way to
change the selection (unless you start over and reselect). It would be nice if
it worked like other programs (e.g. A table in Google Docs), so that when the
mouse pointer returns to the first column (i.e. you recover from your
over-selection error), the original selection is selected and is live, i.e. you
can adjust the selection without starting over.
