            Bug ID: 172409
Summary: Spell checking of abbreviations with dot and hyphen
                    generates double hyphen
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: ARM
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When I spell check abbreviations with dots and hyphen (e.g. "bf.-aftr."; real
life example: "Priv.-Doz.") and run a spell check the parts "bf." and "aftr."
are treated as individual spelling errors. If I ignore both once this results
in a change from "bf.-aftr." to "bf.--aftr.".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer Document.
2. Type "bf.-aftr." (without quotes).
3. Start spell check (Shift+Command+Ü on German macOS).
4. Click "Ignore once" for "bf." and click "Ignore once" for "aftr.".

Actual Results:
"bf.-aftr." is changed to "bf.--aftr.".

Expected Results:
"bf.-aftr." should stay "bf.-aftr.".

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I'm using the "Deutsch (Deutschland)" dictionary and the German GUI.
