            Bug ID: 172458
Summary: Feature Request for LibreOffice – Missing options from
                    MS Word, Notepad, and OpenOffice
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.4.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: framework
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Hello,

I would like to submit a proposal to implement several key features into
LibreOffice. These options are currently available in competing software (MS
Word, Notepad, OpenOffice) but are missing in the current version of
LibreOffice. Adding them would significantly improve user experience.

Here is the list of proposed enhancements:

1. Features inspired by Microsoft Word:
* Built-in AI Assistant (Copilot equivalent): A native tool for automatic
summarizing, style correction, and content generation without relying on
unstable third-party extensions.
* SmartArt Equivalent: A tool for quickly creating modern, editable flowcharts,
decision trees, and process diagrams (currently, LibreOffice often imports them
from .docx as uneditable images).
* Native Dictation with Punctuation: A built-in speech-to-text system that
automatically inserts punctuation marks.
* Expand/Collapse Headings: The ability to hide and reveal all content under a
specific heading with a single click, making navigation in long documents much
easier.
* Real-time Cloud Collaboration: An easily accessible, native way for multiple
users to edit the same document simultaneously, showing live cursor movements.
* Built-in Text Translator: An integrated tool for quick translation of
selected fragments or the entire document directly inside the software window.

2. Features inspired by classic Notepad:
* "Pure Text" Mode (Zero lag and absolute lack of formatting): An option to
instantly open and save files as completely plain text (.txt), without
automatically injecting any hidden ODF/XML formatting tags in the background.
* No System File Locking: The capability to edit configuration files (e.g.,
.ini, .log) on the fly without the risk of breaking their structure via
automated office suite mechanisms.

3. Features inspired by Apache OpenOffice:
* Optional Classic Interface: An option to switch the sidebar layout and icons
to a 100% unchanging (retro) version, dedicated to older users who get confused
by dynamic UI changes.
* Backward Macro Compatibility: Better support and safe emulation for very old
macros (created between 2000-2010) that run correctly in OpenOffice but cause
errors in LibreOffice.

Implementing these solutions would make LibreOffice a complete and unparalleled
software suite. Thank you for your hard work on developing open-source
software.

Best regards
