Having said that everything else prints I discovered to my surprise that I could not print a photograph and the problem was the same as with LO - 'printer not connected'. I solved the entire problem by deleting the printer, connecting it directly to the computer via USB and re-installing it as a local printer. Now I can print from LO, photos etc without problem.
