Example Document
When a vertical text box with Chinese text is inserted on a page with a
different page style (separated by a manual page break), the text box shows
normally after being inserted, can be printed or exported to PDF without
problems, but disappears after saving and loading.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attached example document.
2. Go to page 3, see that there is no vertical text box on the left margin.
Also check the navigator, see that "Vertical Text Box" drawing object exists
but for some reason shows gray.
3. Delete the manual page break between page 2 and 3 (by carefully putting the
mouse cursor on the dash line representing the break, click on it to show a
dropdown, then choose "Delete Page Break").
4. Insert a manual page break in the same place, either just by keyboard
Ctrl+Enter (same default page style) or Insert > More Breaks > Manual Break...
dialog and choose "Page Break" option and "Large Left Margin" in the "Page
Style:" dropdown.
5. Now the vertical text box with two lines of text (one English and one
Chinese) show up on page 3. In navigator it also becomes normal black.
6. (Optional) Save the document again. If the page style for page 3 in step 4
is default page style, the text box persists after saving and loading. If the
page style for page 3 is "Large Left Margin", the text box disappears after
saving and loading.
Expected Result:
Vertical text box always shown after saving and loading.
Actual Result:
Vertical text box disappears after saving and loading.
Notes:
This is a bug that has bothered me in my work for quite a while. I've just
recently have time to produce a sample document without sensitive information.
However I don't have time to reduce everything to minimum but still triggering
the bug. I've only tested that a different page style is essential. Whether
other factors -- such as vertical (instead of normal horizontal text box), 180
degrees rotation, Chinese text, text box on page margin -- make a difference, I
haven't tested yet.
Version Information:
Reproducible on all versions I've tested, including:
