Bug ID: 172562
Summary: Sheet Tab Bar - Provide internal button icons instead
of using system based icons
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
The sheet tab bar located at the bottom of Calc window shows buttons/icons to
its left.
They consist of next/previous arrow icons and new sheet icon.
I created a few posts about the behavior / look of these icons before realizing
that these buttons are designed to use your systems icons.
Before sharing any of my other related posts about these buttons/icons/behavior
of how these buttons function, I would need to make this suggestion / ask this
question.
To me this seems undesired / unnecessary to use system icons for something like
this. Icons sets can provide some strange / overly complex icons for these
very basic buttons.
If user likes the current icon set they are using on their system in general,
but do not like the icons shown in sheet tab bar, there is nothing that they
can do to change these icons.
I am suggesting in the case of these buttons icons mentioned, to consider just
providing a standard set of icons internally coming from LibreOffice instead.
I do not want to go into a lot of detail of what I feel these icons should look
like but would just look similar to the following but with filled in solid
arrowheads so they standout more
|< < > >| +
This way these icons would always be clear to users, ignoring system icons
used.
So before going into anymore detail
Would this be something that would be considered / agreed with by developers?
