            Bug ID: 172585
Summary: LibreOffice Writer 26.2 can open Markdown files, but
                    TeX math is not rendered
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.4.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
LibreOffice Writer 26.2 can open Markdown files, but TeX math is not rendered.

Example input:

Inline math: $E = mc^2$

Display math:

$$
\int_0^1 x^2\,dx = \frac{1}{3}
$$

Actual result:
The math is shown as literal text, ignored, or not converted to a formula
object.

Expected result:
Inline and display math should be converted to native LibreOffice Math formula
objects, or at least imported via MathML where possible.

tdf#168827 - Markdown export: missing content when document includes Math
object
tdf#171276 - Writer markdown export: export math objects as text/mathml

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a .md that contains math
2.Observe the math isn't rendered
3.That's it

Actual Results:
Math isn't rendered in .md files

Expected Results:
The math is rendered

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
MD4C can recognize $...$ / $$...$$ if configured to do so, but LibreOffice’s
Markdown importer currently does not enable or implement TeX-math conversion.
