            Bug ID: 172829
Summary: Find-and-Replace needs "Including Styles" checked if
it will find formatting values defined in Character
                    Styles - should it?
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.4.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

I do not know if this is an implementation, UI, or documentation bug (or an
enhancement)....but here is the problem.

1. Make or use a character style with a font color.
2. Apply that character style to some characters in a document.
3. Open Find-and- Replace (Ctrl+Shift+F) and from that dialog, open the Format
dialog, select Font Effects, and set the Font Color to be the same value as the
font color in the character style, then OK, and Find Next.

Actual: Nothing is found.
Expected: the characters with the applied character style are found.

4. Check "Including Styles" in the Find-Replace dialog.

Actual (and Expected): All characters with applied character style are found.

(but I would not expect that I need to use "Including Styles" if I am just
searching on a "format" setting. Shouldn't it be sufficient to just search on
the format value?)

Depending on what is the intended behavior here, then maybe (or maybe not)
there are some documentation problems:

- If Including Styles is also needed for finding character style formats, then
the tooltip for "Including Styles" does not indicate that, and should be
changed.

- The Help page for "Including Styles" does not mention the need to use this
checkbox for also finding Character Styles.
