If the user wants to actually change the setting from "Default" to "Bottom" (i.e. to explicitly set it as "Bottom") for selected cells, then this icon should be initially disabled, so the user would know that the setting is not currently "Bottom". If some other spreadsheet tool renders the "Default" alignment in a different way (instead of rending it as "Bottom"), it is up to the user to decide to impose "Bottom" explicitly, or to use "Default" (or any other possibility). The icons should not create any conflict regarding these 2 different statuses. If the setting is "Bottom", the icon should be displayed as on / enabled / pressed. For any other setting for the cell's vertical alignment, it should be displayed as off / disabled (which includes "Default").
