--- Comment #22 from MartinPC <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Paolo Benvenuto from comment #18) > A work around for searching and/or replacing non-breaking space: type a > non-breaking space in your document, copy it and paste it into the f&r > dialog: it works! I can confirm that while you still can't type a non-breaking space into Find or Replace fields in LO 26.2.4.2., searching for copied-and-pasted non-breaking spaces works, and replacing regular breaking spaces with copied-and-pasted non-breaking spaces works, too. You can ALSO NOT TYPE SOFT/CONDITIONAL HYPHENS (Ctrl+-, i.e., Ctrl+hyphen) into Find or Replace fields. However, unlike with copied-and-pasted non-breaking spaces, you cannot search for (Find) any copied-and-pasted text that contains soft hyphens; you have to strip them out before searching will work. That said, you CAN replace any text you ultimately DO find with text containing soft hyphens that you've copied-and-pasted into the REPLACE field. Worse, soft hyphens are completely INVISIBLE to the user in the Find and Replace dialog fields. The only way to figure out where they are is to cursor your way left and right through the text. When the cursor doesn't move after you've hit an arrow key, it's because you've just cursored over an invisible soft hyphen. I'm thinking about filing a bug report about this behavior, but if the code dates back to the days of StarOffice (1985+), I'm not holding my breath about getting it fixed! ;-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
