The adjustment is found in Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options, and on the 'Options' tab find the stanzas: 'Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of paragraph' 'Delete spaces and tabs at end and start of line' Both are enabled by default in per-user profile. Also should note, rather than starting a paragraph using a <tab> or <spaces> which is manual Direct Formatting (DF) that is difficult to maintain consistency for longer documents, and even harder to make bulk changes.
