Description:
For words that contain a ß (regardless of which one) and are written entirely
in uppercase letters, the spelling with a capital Scharp-S (ẞ) is flagged as
incorrect, even though the spelling with ẞ has been the officially correct one
since 2017.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the text language to German (Germany).
2. Type `STRAẞE` (U+1E9E, e.g. via Shift+AltGr+ß, or type `1e9e` and press
Alt+X).
3. Run the spell check.
Actual Results:
`STRAẞE` is flagged as "not in dictionary". The suggestions offered are
`STRAFE`,
`STRASSE` and `STRAßE` — the last one being typographically wrong, a lowercase
ß
between capitals. The same happens with `GROẞ`, `MAẞE`, `FUẞBALL`, `WEIẞ`,
`GROẞMANN`.
Expected Results:
`STRAẞE` is accepted. It is correct German orthography: the *Amtliches
Regelwerk*
of the Rat für deutsche Rechtschreibung lists `Straße – STRASSE – STRAẞE` in §
25 E3,
and the capital sharp s has been official since 2017. It matters most for
proper names
set in capitals, where `GROẞMANN` and `GROSSMANN` are different names.
