You have to go look elsewhere. * Show is better than tell. * It will result in changes occurring in one additional, related but separate, place when you move the cursor or apply a style. * It takes away vertical space from the list. While on a large display this is not much of a concern, with smaller displays, e.g. small-form-factor or older laptops, this is somewhat meanigful. So, what am I proposing, exactly? Well, I'm not entirely sure. If the style list (tree/list) had no previews, it would have been much easier; I might have proposed making the current style be rendered in a stronger weight. But with previews, that can also just mean the style uses a stronger-weight font by default. I could also suggest a checkmark, like in Zoteo. That would address the shortcomings of the asterisk option, but - at the prices of horizontal space: Either less characters of the style name displayed, or a wider sidebar. Is it worth it?
