            Bug ID: 173043
Summary: “outline” is difficult to translate
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Localization
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

In LibreOffice, “outline” can sometimes mean:

1. an overview of something
or
2. the outer lines of a shape.

It looks like a lot of the translations get this wrong, which is quite
understandable because it’s really hard to figure out the context when
presented with a string in Weblate.

For example, if you select a chart and then do “Insert->Data table”, there is
an option in the dialog called “Show outline” (KAzDB). This string is sometimes
translated as what looks like meaning 1:

French: Afficher le plan
Basque: Erakutsi eskema

and others like meaning 2:

Esperanto: Vidigi konturon
Catalan: Mostra el contorn

Or another example is the menu item for the outline mode in Impress (coDkB):

meaning 1:

French: Plan
Aragonais: Esquema

meaning 2:

Danish: Kontur
Luxembourgish: Konturen

I think it would be really helpful to add translator comments to all of these
strings to explain which meaning is intended.
