Bug ID: 173150
Summary: "Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of
paragraph" strips a space at the paragraph boundary as
it is typed, blocking space entry
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.7.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Linguistic
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Description:
The autocorrect rule "Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of paragraph"
applies incorrectly, preventing paragraphs from starting with a single letter
followed by a space.
With the caret in a paragraph containing exactly one character, the space is
inserted normally and then immediately deleted by an AutoCorrect rule running
on the same keystroke. Ctrl+Z reverses the deletion and reveals the space.
Steps to Reproduce:
Steps to replicate:
New document. Tools > AutoCorrect Options > [Options Tab] > [Checkbox CHECKED:
"Delete spaces at beginning and end of paragraph". Tools > AutoCorrect > While
Typing enabled. Type one character, press space.
Actual Results:
Actual: No space appears, caret does not advance, character count stays at 1.
Ctrl+Z restores the space. Backspace requires two presses to delete the single
character.
Expected Results:
Expected: The rule should not apply to whitespace being actively typed at the
caret.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Nothing further to report.
