            Bug ID: 173165
Summary: Explain autodetection of ISO 8601 dates in Text/CSV
                    import
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Documentation
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

Found while looking at bug 172365, quoting my comment from there:

If you use ISO 8601 format, it will be detected as date even if you don't tick
"Detect special numbers" and there is no need to define the column as date.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601

It seems our documentation could use some improvement as this is not mentioned
anywhere and I learned about it by searching within Bugzilla.

The relevant help page is

Import)

It would be good to explain this both in the help and Calc guide book, with an
example.
