I do also need the functionality to copy/move templates between documents.

Unfortunately this does not work with Global documents, because the extension
*.odm is not supportet. And with Ubuntu there is no line to type in the file
name but only the drop down box, so you could not use wildcard *.* to select
the *.odm.

If you have to do this for a lot of templates from several documents it's
probably easier to recreate the templates.

Apart from that the menu entry 'File → Templates → Organize' should IMHO still
be available and not simply vanish.
