LibreOffice uses a GNU-Make-based build configuration system. 

Why do you believe OS-specific, somewhat-or-entirely-redundant scripts should
be added to it? Have you had trouble generating packages using the build
system?

Note that some have suggested switching from our somewhat-customized build
system to CMake or meson (that is bug 113121). That is a somewhat controvertial
proposal, but - if it were to be adopted, would that satisfy the need which
motivated this bug?
