            Bug ID: 173303
Summary: Feature Request: hide fonts from being listed in the
                    font menu
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.5.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
There are many fonts (particularly on Linux) which are not used on a daily
basis and create long scrollable lists in the font selection menus. Many users
online are seeking help in many forums to delete fonts that may in fact be
necessary for the system to use.
I would humbly suggest that the various methods for enabling font selection in
LibreOffice should offer a setting to exclude fonts from being listed (while
keeping those fonts available for rendering documents that contain them). The
goal is to allow users to reduce unecessary repetitive scrolling and searching
while looking for fonts when composing a document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Scrolling past all the international variants of the installed fonts.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
A lot of scrolling and searching

Expected Results:
Less scrolling and searching

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Provide customized shorter font lists.
