            Bug ID: 173315
           Summary: Selecting Landscape Orientation (Suggestion)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Takes too many steps to select "landscape orientation" when creating a new
document. I need 1st open "Format ", then "Page Style", then change the
"General Tab" to "Page Tab", then "Orientation", then "Landscape". All these
steps confuse "new users" to the point of frustration, just trying to navigate
all of the menu items. Should be an icon on the main desktop near the Printer
icon for "Page Orientation" out of the box.

Also why is .79" set as the margins default??? One inch is pretty standard in
the USA, unless you are using MS-Word. I've been a WordPerfect user since v5.1
and many other word processors. Yours takes the prize for the most clicks
needed to select the page orientation. I frequently have to Google the
instructions just to remember how. Yes getting old and grumpy at age 70, but
this is insane? Otherwise you have a great office suite! Also works great under
Linux! Thanks for your attention to this matter!

Please add an icon near the printer icon to change this setting.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.see above. . .
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It works but takes too many steps.

Expected Results:
As simple and fast as possible.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Same under both Windows 10 and Linux Mint.
