There appears to be a platform-specific bug in LibreOffice related to renaming
tables through Navigator → Tables.
The behavior differs between LibreOffice versions:
LibreOffice 26.8.0.3 (Windows 10 / Linux Mint Xfce): Renaming a table from
Navigator → Tables does not work.
LibreOffice 26.2.5.2 (Windows 10 / Linux Mint Xfce): Renaming a table from
Navigator → Tables causes all navigation categories in the Navigator to become
invisible.
macOS: The issue does not occur; table renaming from Navigator → Tables works
normally.
In all tested versions/platforms, renaming or editing the table through Table
Properties works correctly.
The issue is reproducible and occurs repeatedly on the affected platforms.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Writer.
2.Create or insert a table in the document.
3.Open Navigator (F5).
4.Expand the Tables category.
5.Select a table.
6.Attempt to rename the table using the rename function in the Navigator.
7.Observe the result.
Actual Results:
LibreOffice 26.8 — Windows 10 / Linux Mint Xfce
The table cannot be renamed successfully from Navigator → Tables. The rename
operation does not work.
LibreOffice 26.2 — Windows 10 / Linux Mint Xfce
After attempting to rename the table from Navigator → Tables, all navigation
categories in the Navigator become invisible/disappear.
macOS
The issue could not be reproduced. Renaming the table through Navigator →
Tables works as expected.
Expected Results:
The table should be renamed successfully through Navigator → Tables, and all
other Navigator categories should remain visible and functional.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Renaming or editing the table through Table Properties works correctly.
For example:
Table → Properties → General → Name
This method successfully changes the table name without causing any problems
with the Navigator.
