I can reproduce on Debian testing in a Plasma Wayland session, but *not* in a GNOME Wayland session or if forcing the use of the X11 GTK backend using GDK_BACKEND=x11, which indeed raises the questions of whether this could be either a GTK or a KWin (Wayland compositor) bug.
