Description:
When a user inserts a custom character or symbol for a footnote (e.g., a single
asterisk * or a slash /) via Insert -> Footnote and Endnote -> Footnote or
Endnote... using the Character option, it displays correctly. However, upon
saving the document in Microsoft Word 2007-365 (.docx) format and reopening it
using LibreOffice Writer, the custom footnote marker/symbol is incorrectly
duplicated or repeated. This affects both the reference mark in the main text
and the footnote entry at the bottom of the page, causing data
corruption/alteration during the round-trip DOCX filter process.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new document in LibreOffice Writer.
2. Go to Insert -> Footnote and Endnote -> Footnote or Endnote....
3. Under Numbering, select Character and type a custom symbol (e.g., *), then
click OK.
4. Type any text in the footnote content area.
5. Save the file as Microsoft Word 2007-365 (.docx).
6. Close the file and reopen it in LibreOffice Writer.
Actual Results:
The custom footnote symbol is duplicated (e.g., a single * changes to **, or /
changes to //).
Expected Results:
The custom footnote symbol should remain unchanged (a single * or /) after
saving and reopening the file as a .docx document.
