The problem can be reproduced by copying and pasting existing Santali text written in the Ol Chiki script into LibreOffice Writer. No Santali keyboard, IBus/Fcitx input method, or other special input configuration is required. # Steps to Reproduce 1. Open LibreOffice Writer. 2. Use the following language configuration: User Interface: Santali, Ol Chiki Formats → Locale Settings: Santali, Ol Chiki Default languages for documents: Western: English (USA) Asian: MULTIPLE Complex Text Layout: MULTIPLE 3. Paste the text into Writer. 5. Check the language shown in the status bar. # Actual Result The pasted Santali text is assigned/identified as Hindi in the status bar instead of Santali, Ol Chiki. This occurs even though the LibreOffice user interface, Western and locale are configured for Santali, Ol Chiki. # Expected Result Santali text written in the Ol Chiki script should be correctly identified/assigned as Santali, Ol Chiki rather than Hindi. The result should not depend on whether the text was entered using a Santali keyboard/input method or pasted from an external source. # Additional Observation: Western Language Setting If Western is changed from English (USA) to Santali, Ol Chiki under: Tools → Options → Languages & Locales → Default languages for documents the configuration becomes: User Interface: Santali, Ol Chiki Formats → Locale Settings: Santali, Ol Chiki Default languages for documents: Western: Santali, Ol Chiki Asian: MULTIPLE Complex Text Layout: MULTIPLE However, the pasted Santali (Ol Chiki) text is still assigned/identified as Hindi in the status bar. At the same time, setting Western = Santali, Ol Chiki causes the English spell checker to stop working. Therefore, I observe two behaviors: 1. Santali, Ol Chiki text pasted into Writer is still assigned/identified as Hindi, even when Santali, Ol Chiki is configured as the document's Western language. 2. Setting Western = Santali, Ol Chiki causes the English spell checker to stop working. The first behavior can be reproduced independently of any Santali keyboard or input method.
