Summary
In LibreOffice 26.8.0.3 on macOS Sequoia 15.7.9, the native macOS items in the
Window menu are repeatedly duplicated when switching between two Calc document
windows.
Steps to reproduce
Start LibreOffice 26.8.0.3 on macOS Sequoia 15.7.9.
Create a new blank Calc spreadsheet (Workbook A).
Create a second new blank Calc spreadsheet (Workbook B).
With Workbook A active, open the Window menu. It appears normal.
Switch to Workbook B.
Open the Window menu. It appears normal.
Switch back to Workbook A.
Switch to Workbook B again.
Open the Window menu.
The following five macOS Window menu items are now duplicated:
Remove Window from Set
Fill
Center
Move and Resize
Full Screen Tile
Switch back to Workbook A.
Switch to Workbook B again.
Open the Window menu.
Another complete set of the same five items has been added.
Each subsequent activation of Workbook B adds another complete set of these
five items.
Actual result
The Window menu of the second Calc document progressively accumulates duplicate
copies of:
Remove Window from Set
Fill
Center
Move and Resize
Full Screen Tile
The actual Calc document names continue to appear correctly at the bottom of
the Window menu.
The first Calc document does not exhibit this behavior.
Expected result
The Window menu should contain only one instance of each applicable macOS
window-management command regardless of how many times the user switches
between Calc document windows.
Additional testing
The problem is reproducible with two completely new, blank Calc spreadsheets.
Therefore, it is not dependent on the contents of a particular spreadsheet.
The problem also reproduces in LibreOffice Troubleshoot Mode, so it does not
appear to depend on normal user-profile settings or extensions.
macOS Stage Manager is disabled.
Version comparison
The problem is reproducible with:
LibreOffice 26.8.0.3
The same problem does NOT occur after downgrading to:
LibreOffice 26.2.6.3
The same Mac and macOS version were used for this comparison.
In LibreOffice 26.2.6.3, two blank Calc documents can be repeatedly switched
between without the Window menu accumulating duplicate entries.
Reproduction frequency
100% reproducible.
The duplication begins when the second Calc window is activated for the second
time, and another set of five items is added with each subsequent activation.
Possible regression
This appears to be a regression between the 26.2 and 26.8 branches,
specifically involving the native macOS Window menu/window-management items
when Calc document windows are activated and deactivated.
I am not assuming a particular implementation cause; this is based on the
observed behavior.
