--- Comment #2 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #1) > Yes, can see the utility. > > Would want the action intentional (as it is now), but *not* impossible. How many times to you set your document's _styles_' typeface to something else? Rarely is it more than a couple of times throughout the editing of the document. And it is better to be warned when you type in the typeface name rather than being told a long while later. I think. > Think of preparing a styled document for use on a system with different > fonts, e.g. Baskerville on macOS, working on Windows you'd get some fall > back--but the styled document opened on macOS would get the font(s) > indicated in the style(s). And vice-versa for roundtrip work. Yes, something like that. Other possibilities: * Using a typeface you intend to download (or buy), but haven't yet. * Using a typeface you have on your home machine while you're on your laptop (or vice-versa) * Using a semicolon-separated list, some of whose initial elements may be missing (but - that might be allowed without a confirmation) * Using a typeface you know is substituted but is missing (but - that might be allowed without a confirmation) * Using a typeface you're planning to have a substitution for, before adding the substitution but I realize I'm kind of reaching here. Still, we're currently at the other extreme, of always allowing this with no questions asked, so let's not go all the way to the extreme of just disallowing it altogether. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
