Bug ID: 173734
Summary: UI: Missing corner drag handle to scale/resize entire
table width proportionally in Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When a table is inserted in LibreOffice Writer, there is no interactive corner
handle to resize or scale the overall table directly on the document canvas.
Currently, users are forced to manually adjust each column/cell border one by
one to resize the table.
Having a drag handle (e.g., at the bottom-right corner of the table) would
allow users to easily scale the table size while maintaining the relative width
percentages of all columns.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer and insert a table (e.g., 3x3).
2. Hover over the table corners/borders to locate an overall resize handle.
3. Attempt to drag and scale down the entire table width interactively.
Actual Results:
There is no drag handle available to resize the whole table. Users must
manually drag individual cell/column borders one by one, which loses the
relative proportions of the columns.
Expected Results:
A drag handle should appear at the corner of the table when selected, allowing
users to drag and scale the table width directly while preserving the
proportional widths of all columns.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
