            Bug ID: 173795
Summary: DOCX document viewed in Writer: incorrect image
                    positioning or anchoring.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.0.0 alpha0+ master
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When opening a Word document (docx) in LibreOffice (version 26.8 and others), I
notice that some images are positioned differently than expected, causing them
to overflow or misalign with the subsequent text.

Steps to Reproduce:
Simply open these two documents in Word and LibreOffice and observe the
differences in the positioning of the various images.

Actual Results:
In the first document

- An image inside a table is positioned too low; it is anchored to a character
that is vertically centered within the table. Moving that anchor character to
the top of the table cell instead of the middle fixes the issue. Setting the
anchor type to "As Character" rather than "To Character" also resolves it.
However, this approach isn't necessarily suitable for other images.
- In the footer, the text ends up overlapping the image rather than appearing
below it. If I change the anchor to "As Character" instead of "To Character,"
the text is positioned correctly, but the image follows the text margins and
becomes misaligned.

In the second document

- Somes images that span multiple pages in the original document all appear on
the first page when opened in LibreOffice.

Expected Results:
Improve image positioning so that the document appears closer to the original
without requiring rework.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The compatibility system for image handling needs improvement. There are
existing options in LibreOffice, but it isn't fully refined.
