--- Comment #1 from Michael Weghorn <[email protected]> ---
Thanks for your report.

I can reproduce a large amount of events also when running with the gtk3 vcl
plugin on Wayland (Plasma Wayland on Debian testing, libgtk-3-0t64 3.24.52-2).

However, even with 2 instances of the gtk3-demo app, I see a lot of events (in
particular `object:bounds-changed` ones) when switching between those, so
wonder whether at least part of this is an upstream GTK 3 problem.

Can you also reproduce the issue when using gtk3-demo or other GTK applications
instead of LibreOffice?

Version: 27.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64)
Build ID: 0a327fc06f23b212b4a2a96f26c285be44db01b0
CPU threads: 32; OS: Linux 7.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Simple Python program used to simply print events (adjust the app name to use
either 'soffice' or 'gtk', depending on whether LO or gtk3-demo are used):

    #!/usr/bin/python3

    import gi

    gi.require_version('Atspi', '2.0')

    from gi.repository import Atspi
    import pyatspi

    def listener(e):
        try:
            #if not e.host_application.name.startswith('soffice'):
            if not e.host_application.name.startswith('gtk'):
                return
        except:
            print('exception')
            return
        print(e)
    pyatspi.Registry.registerEventListener(listener, "object:")
    pyatspi.Registry.registerEventListener(listener, "window:")
    pyatspi.Registry.start()
